(107). William6 GOODWIN (Isaac5, Joseph4, Samuel3, Richard2, Edward1), the s/o Isaac and Judith (NORTON) GOODWIN, William was b. 09 May 1764 (A); m. 31 Jul 1785 (A), Molly (Mary) BADGER, b. ____, d/o Obadiah and Mary (MARTIN) BADGER of Amesbury. William and Mary lived in Amesbury all their lives and raised ten children. Charles A. Goodwin-Perkins, of Hoopeston, Ill in "The Goodwin Families of Newport, N. H. and Their Relationship" quotes The Representative Citizens of Paulding County, Ohio, 1902. p. 154, that William "fought valiantly during the entire Revolutionary War." Though possible, it seems unlikely that a youth barely into puberty served for the duration of the War -- and no record can be identified as his. His wife's father, however, served in the Rev. War in Capt. Timothy Barnard's Co. which fought at Lexington and Concord. William and Mary had ten children, all born in Amesbury (Ames. Records, John French Johnson Ledger and Cemetery Records).
The record for Stephen is from "THE GOODWIN FAMILIES OF NEWPORT, N.H., AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP, by Charles A. Goodwin - Perkins, of Hoopeston, Ill" who lists him as the fourth born. John Fench Johnson does not list him; and he would fit only as the last born, if he is the Stephen GOODWIN who m. Nancy PRESCOTT and is buried with her in the cemetery at Monahan Corner, East Kingston, N.H. He is placed last provisionally in this listing.

Debbie Wilson purchased a GOODWIN Family bible on Ebay in early March, 2008. She transcribed the entries, and with her permission, they are reproduced here:

The Holy Bible Containing the Old and New Testaments, Concord, NH Published by Luther Roby, 1846.

The Goodwin Bible was rescued from Ebay 30 January 2008. It is pretty much falling apart, the leather cover detached and the pages apart from the binding, but the records are all intact and script is dark. Transcription is exactly as written with variant spellings.
